THE DOGE'S WAY
TOUR ITINERARY
The tour begins with a meet-up at Marina del Faro (1), located in Cavallino-Treporti, with departure scheduled for approximately 9:00 AM.
After about 1 hour and 30 minutes of sailing along the Casson-Saccagnana canal, we enter the Venice Lagoon (2), where our members can admire breathtaking landscapes, immersing themselves in nature between the lagoon and the sea. We then head toward the MOSE (3), where passengers can observe this unique engineering marvel from the boat.
The journey continues toward St. Erasmo Island (4), famous not only for its ancient agricultural traditions but also for its production of the renowned violet artichokes (castraure). Landing is expected around 11:00 AM.
On St. Erasmo Island (4), visitors can admire the Torre Massimiliana, a 19th-century fortress commissioned by Archduke Maximilian Joseph of Austria-Este, located on the side of the island facing the Lido.
A 2-hour free time is scheduled on the island, allowing our members to explore, enjoy a packed lunch, or relax at one of the local eateries.
At around 1:00 PM, the program includes reboarding and sailing toward the Venice Arsenal, where passengers can observe the world-famous art installation "Quinn’s Hands" (5) from the boat. The journey then continues for about 1 hour toward St. Francis of the Desert Convent (6), where, at 3:30 PM, visitors can take a guided tour led by a Franciscan friar (duration approximately 40 minutes, subject to prior booking by the club).
At around 4:30 PM, the tour includes reboarding and returning to Marina del Faro (1), with an estimated arrival time of 6:00 PM.
Preparations for the Tour:
Wear comfortable clothing;
Bring clean shoes;
Bring a waterproof windbreaker.
What’s Included:
- Venetian-style aperitif served on board during the cruise;
Private boat (max 6 people) exclusively available for the entire duration of the tour (approx. 9 hours);
Onboard bathroom with toilet;
Booking arranged by the club for the visit to St. Francis of the Desert Convent (a voluntary donation to the convent is appreciated).
Conditions:
- Participation in the tour is exclusively reserved for registered club members;
- The captain reserves the right to modify the itinerary or cancel the event in case of adverse weather conditions;
- Use of the safety equipment on board is mandatory;
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure will not be refunded.
Anything not expressly mentioned is not included.
