PEAKS AND KNOTS
In sailing, knowing how to tie different knots depending on their use is a fundamental requirement for operating a vessel correctly.
The ability to tie and untie knots with ease not only demonstrates nautical expertise but also ensures the vessel’s safety—both during navigation and in a marina.
Course Objectives
- Acquire practical skills and technical knowledge to correctly execute essential nautical knots (and beyond).
- Learn about different types of ropes, their materials, and maintenance.
- Understand the differences between knots and their specific uses, as well as master specialized knots for particular needs.
-Gain the competence and confidence to handle practical and unexpected situations.
Course Program and Duration
The course lasts 8 hours.
it is structured as follows:
Theoretical Part: Introduction to nautical ropes, materials, and their applications.
Practical Part: Participants practice using provided equipment (e.g., ropes, bollards, cleats, buoys) to tie various knots, including stopper knots, bends, loops, hitches, whippings, and more.
