METEOROLOGY
In the nautical field, the weather is one of the most important and critical factors for navigating successfully and safely.
Knowing, understanding, and predicting climate changes allows those who operate a vessel to avoid dangerous situations.
Knowledge of meteorology is not just an advantage but a necessity for safety on board the vessel.
Course Objectives
Provide adequate preparation so that participants acquire the basic fundamentals of meteorology, in order to face weather situations that occur during navigation with the right degree of awareness and calmness.
Course Program and Duration
The course duration is 8 hours.
The course consists of theoretical lessons where the following topics are explored:
- Basic principles of meteorology;
- Interpretation of weather forecasts, winds, and tides;
- Identification of atmospheric signals;
- Navigation planning;
- Specific meteorological risks.
